Full Time

Since 1981, family-owned Oak Professional maintenance has been providing premium quality landscape maintenance services in Oak Lawn Illinois. Oak Professional Maintenance has been in business for over 40 years. We have an IMMEDIATE need for an experienced individual with similar core values to ours to join our team and grow professionally and personally.

The Assistant Crew Leader will work as part of generally a 4-person team to provide full landscape maintenance services to home properties. You will have an established route of properties to maintain throughout the landscape season. The Assistant Crew Leader is responsible for assisting in the management of the crew members and will operate a full range of equipment to maintain properties and will also work with a variety of materials with limited supervision. They will ensure that all services are completed according to standards, in an efficient manner; and that all materials and time are accurately documented. They will recognize that customer satisfaction is our top priority.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB:

Help the Crew Leader to organize equipment, materials and labor efficiently to complete projects set by your manager.

Must be capable to operate all equipment for extended periods of time, including but not limited to; Mowers, Stander Mower, Walk Behind Mower, Rider, Push Mower, Sidewalk Edger, Hedge Trimmer, Line Trimmer, Backpack Blower, Spade & Rake and more.

Assume responsibility for ensuring the overall quality and precision of all work at the job sites, including attending to the details.

In the absence of your Crew Leader, use independent judgement to develop creative solutions to problems that may arise on the job site. If your Crew Leader is present, assist him in creative problem solving and implement disciplinary procedures when necessary.

Assist in handling customer complaints with tact.

Responsible for the timely reporting of timesheets and other required paperwork as directed by your Crew Leader.

Communicate effectively with Production Managers, Subordinates, and Clients: Project/Property Managers.

Share responsibility with your Crew Leader for the cleanliness of your truck, trailer and equipment.

Share responsibility with your Crew Leader for the overall safety of your crew all equipment assigned to your crew.

Report all equipment problems to your Crew Leader, manager and to the shop for repair.

Must have the ability to lift at least 60 pounds. When at the job site and conduct daily tours and visual inspections of the job site to identify and correct any issues.

PREREQUISITES FOR THIS JOB:

Driver’s license required.

Operator pesticide license for turf preferred.

Horticultural knowledge.

Ability to communicate in English.

Must be available to work full time.
